When I had the opportunity to stage not just one, but two manufactured home models, I knew it was more than a design project—it was a chance to reshape how people see modern manufactured living. These homes are often underestimated, but with thoughtful staging and a creative eye, they can be just as stylish, welcoming, and livable as any site-built home.
Model One: Greenbrier
The Greenbrier had a bright, open layout that immediately inspired a cozy, contemporary vibe. To make it feel inviting from the moment someone stepped inside, I chose a neutral palette—soft browns, creamy whites, and warm wood tones. I layered in textures with plush throws, area rugs, and a mix of ceramic and metal accents to add depth and warmth. The result? A clean yet cozy space that feels like home.
Model Two: Chateau Noir
The Chateau Noir had a different energy, so I went in a more playful, earthy direction. I incorporated natural elements and rich textures—think woven baskets, organic textiles, and soft lighting. In the bedrooms, cozy quilts and layered fabrics created a serene, lived-in feel. It was all about creating that effortless charm people love, proving that manufactured homes can have character and soul.
The Reaction
The most rewarding part of this experience? Watching potential homeowners light up as they walked through the models. I could see their perspectives shift in real time. One visitor told me, “I didn’t know a manufactured home could feel this stylish!” That kind of feedback is exactly why staging matters.
Why It Matters
This project wasn’t just about making things look nice—it was about showing the value of manufactured homes. They offer a smart, affordable housing option, and with the right design, they can rival any traditional build in beauty and comfort. This experience reminded me just how powerful design can be in changing minds—and how fun it is to bring different visions to life under (technically) two roofs.
